THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE CHANGE TO THE FORECAST FOR SATURDAY...WHICH
STILL INCLUDES MUCH COLDER WEATHER THROUGHOUT THE REGION...AND A
GOOD CHANCE FOR 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW OVER NORTHERN OKLAHOMA.THE SOUTHERN PLAINS WILL SEE MILD WEATHER TODAY AND FRIDAY...WITH
HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S AND 60S. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL THEN
ARRIVE IN NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET FRIDAY EVENING...REACHING NORTH TEXAS AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA BY SATURDAY MORNING. BEHIND THE FRONT...TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE 20S AND 30S...AND NORTH WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS IN THE TEENS AND LOW 20S. THE BLUSTERY WEATHER WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE DAY ON SATURDAY...AS TEMPERATURES HOLD STEADY OR EVEN FALL A FEW MORE DEGREES DURING THE DAY.WHILE EVERYONE WILL SEE THE ONSET OF COLD AND WINDY CONDITIONS...MUCH OF NORTHERN OKLAHOMA IS ALSO EXPECTED TO RECEIVE SNOW. LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL DEVELOP IN NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA SATURDAY MORNING...AND MOVE EAST DURING THE DAY. THE WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE FAIRLY QUICKLY...AND THIS WILL LIMIT TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION. AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW IS LIKELY...GENERALLY 40 MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM CHEYENNE TO WATONGA AND PERRY.THE GREATEST CONCERN WITH THE STORM SYSTEM WILL BE THROUGH THIS PORTION OF WESTERN AND NORTHERN OKLAHOMA...WHERE A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW MAY SEVERELY REDUCE VISIBILITY...AT LEAST LOCALLY....AND FOR A FEW HOURS. LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO 1INCH...ARE EXPECTED AS FAR SOUTH AS CLINTON...OKLAHOMA CITY...AND CHANDLER. SNOW WILL END FROM WEST TO EAST DURING THE AFTERNOON.ANYONE PLANNING TO TRAVEL OR SPEND TIME OUTDOORS ON SATURDAY SHOULD DRESS FOR LOW WIND CHILLS...AND CHECK THE LATEST TRAVEL CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40.
