...ACCUMULATING SNOW TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA LATE TONIGHT AND
SATURDAY...
.A STORM SYSTEM CURRENTLY DEVELOPING OVER EASTERN NEW MEXICO WILL
EVENTUALLY SWEEP UP ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY THROUGH SATURDAY
NIGHT. AS IT DOES...IT WILL PRODUCE SNOW ON ITS NORTHWEST FLANK
THAT WILL OVERSPREAD MUCH OF THE LOCAL AREA FROM LATE TONIGHT...
AND LAST INTO SATURDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL START IN SOUTHEAST IOWA
AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI AFTER MIDNIGHT...AND SPREAD ACROSS THE REST
OF THE AREA THROUGH SATURDAY. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED BY
THE TIME IT DIMINISHES SATURDAY EVENING GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTH
OF THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR. ISOLATED AMOUNTS UP TO 5 INCHES
WILL BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY IN PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS.
THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT AND POWDERY IN NATURE...AND NORTH
WINDS INCREASING TO 10 TO 20 MPH SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING
WILL PRODUCE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 PM CST SATURDAY.
SNOW WILL BEGIN IN SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI AFTER
MIDNIGHT...AND THEN SPREAD ACROSS THE REST OF THE ADVISORY AREA
INTO SATURDAY. WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4
INCHES ARE EXPECTED...WITH ISOLATED ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 5 INCHES
POSSIBLE...BY THE TIME THE SNOW DIMINISHES BY MID SATURDAY EVENING.
NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS INCREASING TO 10 TO 20 MPH WILL CAUSE
SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE POWDERY SNOW BY SATURDAY EVENING.
A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL
DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLICK...SNOW-COVERED ROADS AND
LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND BE CAREFUL WHILE DRIVING.
