ICE STORM WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MORNING...ESPECIALLY NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA.
A LARGE PORTION OF AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES.WILL EMERGE INTO TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA EARLY THIS MORNING.WIDESPREAD RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR...WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS. MUCH OF THE ACTIVITY WILL AFFECT WESTERN OKLAHOMATONIGHT...AND SPREAD INTO CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. AHEAD OF THE DEVELOPING PRECIPITATION...FOG WILL ALSO SUPPORT WIDESPREAD DRIZZLE AND SOME FREEZING DRIZZLE.THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF NEW ICE ACCUMULATION WILL BE OVER FAR NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA...WITH ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH OF NEW GLAZE BEING COMMON BY MORNING. ALONG THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE WARNING AREA...MOST LOCATIONS HAVE ALREADY EXPERIENCED A VERY SERIOUS ICESTORM...AND ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL WARM TO NEAR FREEZING...THE ONGOING PROBLEMS WILL NOT EASE SIGNIFICANTLY TONIGHT.

THIS AMOUNT OF ICE ACCUMULATION WILL RESULT IN NUMEROUS BROKEN TREE LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES. TEMPERATURES WILL RISE VERY SLOWLY...AND A CHANCE TO RAIN IS EXPECTED EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. AN ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 12 PM CST TUESDAY.FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL BE OVERTAKEN BY A BROAD SWATH OF FREEZING RAIN DEVELOPING TUESDAY MORNING. LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS OFF REEZING RAIN ARE LIKELY WHERE THUNDERSTORMS ACT TO ENHANCE THE PRECIPITATION. A HALF INCH OF ICE GLAZE WILL BE COMMON...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS OVER THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH BY NOON TUESDAY. DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOGADVISORY.WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY.FOG WILL CONTINUE TO THICKEN TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS THATARE ABOVE FREEZING. VERY MOIST AIR TO THE SOUTH OF OKLAHOMA IS MOVINGNORTH INTO THE COOLER AREAS OF SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMACAUSING FOG FORMATION. VISIBILITY IS EXPECTED TO LOWER BELOW ONE-QUARTER MILE AND THE FOG IS EXPECTED TO BE DENSE THROUGH SUNRISE.A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BEREDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE.
