.THE THREAT FOR FREEZING RAIN AND ICE ACCUMULATION HAS ENDED AS
THE PRECIPITATION HAS DIMINISHED AND CHANGED TO RAIN WITH
TEMPERATURES CONTINUING TO CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING.

WINTER STORM WARNING.
TEMPERATURES HAVE WARMED ABOVE FREEZING...THUS THE THREAT
FOR ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATION HAS ENDED. THEREFORE...THE
WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
...WINTER STORM WINDING DOWN BUT STILL DANGEROUS CONDITIONS EXIST...
.IMPRESSIVE AMOUNTS OF SLEET...FROM ONE TO TWO INCHES...FELL TODAY
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM WISCONSIN RAPIDS TO LAKE PEPIN...TO FARIBAULT
MINNESOTA LINE. THIS WAS ON TOP OF ABOUT 3 INCHES OF SNOW. THIS
EVENING...THAT AREA RECEIVED JUST UNDER ONE-QUARTER OF AN INCH OF
ICE ACCUMULATION FROM FREEZING RAIN AND DRIZZLE. FURTHER NORTH
...NORTH OF HIGHWAY 10...WHERE SNOW FELL ALL DAY...AMOUNTS WERE
IN THE 6 TO 7 INCH RANGE. FURTHER SOUTH IN NORTHEAST IOWA AND
SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN...A GLAZING OF ICE AROUND ONE-EIGHTH OF AN
INCH OCCURRED...WITH AN INCH OF SLEET. TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS
AND LAW ENFORCEMENT INDICATED DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS WITH
SNOW AND ICE OVER ALL ROADS. TRAVEL IS DANGEROUS...AND SHERIFFS
REPORT VERY FEW CARS ON THE ROADS...A SIGN THAT MOST PEOPLE
UNDERSTAND THE DANGER.
AT 10 PM...RADAR INDICATED MOST OF THE HEAVY PRECIPITATION WAS
SHIFTING EAST INTO EASTERN WISCONSIN...EXCEPT FOR A FEW AREAS OF
FREEZING RAIN IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN. THE HEAVY PRECIPITATION WAS
BEING REPLACED BY FREEZING DRIZZLE OR DRIZZLE. SOUTH WINDS
CONTINUED TO WARM SURFACE TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE EVENING WITH
MANY LOCATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF I-90 REACHING 32 TO 34 DEGREES.
WITH THE PRECIPITATION DIMINISHING TO DRIZZLE AND FREEZING
DRIZZLE...AND WITH SOME TEMPERATURES JUST ABOVE FREEZING...
ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MINOR. NORTH OF I-90
TEMPERATURES WILL BE A FEW DEGREES COOLER WHICH MAY PROVIDE A BIT
MORE GLAZING THROUGH THE EARLY OVERNIGHT HOURS.
