WINTER STORM WILL BRING STRONG WINDS AND A WINTRY MIXTURE OF PRECIPITATION TO OKLAHOMA....A FAST MOVING STORM WILL CROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TODAY...BRINGING STRONG WINDS...SNOW...SLEET...AND PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE TO MUCH OF OKLAHOMA. MOST OF THE SNOW WILL BE CONFINED TO THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF OKLAHOMA...WITH DRIZZLE AND FREEZING DRIZZLE OVER CENTRAL OKLAHOMA TRANSITIONING TO SNOW DURING THE AFTERNOON.BRIEF PERIODS OF SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE MOST LOCATIONS.

BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THISAFTERNOON.
THIS ADVISORY REPLACES THE BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY.PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW...MIXED WITH DRIZZLE AND FREEZING DRIZZLE...WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO ALL SNOW THIS AFTERNOON. A LIGHT GLAZING OF ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE ON EXPOSED SURFACES...SUCH AS CARS AND BRIDGES...WHICH WILL IMPACT TRAVEL. BANDS OF MODERATE SNOW...ALONG WITH BRIEF BURSTS OF SLEET...WILL MOVE OVER CENTRAL OKLAHOMA THIS AFTERNOON. MOST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL AVERAGE AROUND 1 INCH ORLESS. HOWEVER...SOME 2 TO 3 INCH ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE NORTH OF INTERSTATE-40.IN ADDITION TO THE POSSIBLE ACCUMULATIONS...STRONG NORTH WINDS WILL CREATE VERY LOW VISIBILITIES DUE TO BLOWING SNOW.A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
