Eye Witness Account From Mid West Ice Storm

As we know, the Mid West was crippled by a deadly ice storm earlier this
past week. The following statement was taken from an EOC Personnel member
from Iowa. To protect his privacy, I will just refer
to him by his first name. Robert wrote the following statement in an E-Mail
he sent to the Mid West Weather Group. The link to that group is

http://groups.google.com/group/mid-west-weather-?hl=en.

Robert's Statement:

"Sorry for
the delay in responding to this but I wanted to get all the info together.
Here in Benton County we got anywhere from 1 half inch of ice to 3 quarters
inch
with an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow on top of that. Trees and power
lines took
the brunt of the damage with only a few power outages reported. Cedar
Rapids seemed
to be hit the hardest in this area with a large part of that city losing
power.
