RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY. A WINTER
STORM WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN
EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.
THIS MORNING A SWATH OF LIGHT RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN WILL MOVE
NORTHEAST ACROSS EASTERN IOWA. WHERE TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW
FREEZING...THE RAIN WILL CAUSE A GLAZE OF ICE TO FORM...ESPECIALLY
ON ELEVATED OR EXPOSED SURFACES. ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH OF
ICE MAY ACCUMULATE. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE
FREEZING BY NOON TODAY...WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE FREEZING RAIN TO
CHANGE BACK TO PLAIN RAIN...AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS TO STOP.
TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...SNOW WILL BEGIN EITHER LATE TUESDAY
MORNING OR TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND C0NTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.
THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL TUESDAY NIGHT. BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW IS POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY AS WINDS
INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH.
