...WINTER STORM TO AFFECT THE REGION THIS WEEKEND...

A WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO BRING POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS
OF ICE TO THE WESTERN THIRD OF OKLAHOMA AND PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS
THIS WEEKEND...WITH SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW NORTH OF INTERSTATE
44...AND POSSIBLY FLOODING RAINS OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA.

A LIGHT MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD
THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF OKLAHOMA AND PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS FRIDAY
NIGHT...BEFORE EXPANDING AND BECOMING HEAVIER ACROSS THE WESTERN
THIRD OF OKLAHOMA ON SATURDAY. MEANWHILE...MAINLY RAIN AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL OVERSPREAD THE REMAINDER OF OKLAHOMA ON SATURDAY
WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE.

THE ICE MAY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO RAIN ACROSS PARTS OF THE AREA ON
SATURDAY...BEFORE THE MAJORITY OF PRECIPITATION NORTH OF INTERSTATE
44 MIXES WITH OR CHANGES TO SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY.

BECAUSE TEMPERATURES OVER PORTIONS OF THE AREA ARE EXPECTED TO HOVER
CLOSE TO FREEZING THIS WEEKEND...PRECISE ICE AND SNOW TOTALS ARE
VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER...IT APPEARS THAT
THE WESTERN THIRD OF OKLAHOMA AND PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS HAVE A CHANCE
TO RECEIVE BETWEEN ONE HALF AND ONE INCH OF A FREEZING RAIN...SLEET
MIXTURE THROUGH SATURDAY. SEVERAL INCHES OF A HEAVY WET SNOW ARE
ALSO POSSIBLE NORTH OF INTERSTATE 44 SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY.
FLOODING RAINS MAY OCCUR OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA...WHERE RAIN TOTALS
THROUGH MAY AVERAGE 2 TO 4 INCHES.
