...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR TONIGHT AND THURSDAY...

.A STRONG COLD FRONT HAS BROUGHT A COLD CANADIAN AIRMASS SOUTH
INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS. THIS COLD AIR WILL COMBINE WITH WARM
MOIST AIR A FEW THOUSAND FEET ABOVE THE SURFACE TO PRODUCE LIGHT
FREEZING DRIZZLE... FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET ACROSS MUCH OF
OKLAHOMA AND PORTIONS OF WESTERN NORTH TEXAS TONIGHT AND THURSDAY.
THE MAIN STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY NIGHT...
BRINGING AN END TO THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION.

6 PM CST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
6 PM CST THURSDAY.

ICE MAY BEGIN TO ACCUMULATE ACROSS PARTS OF THE AREA THIS EVENING
BEFORE BECOMING MORE WIDESPREAD OVERNIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY AS
AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES THE AREA. ICE
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN LIGHT ACROSS MOST AREAS WITH
TOTALS OF A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH. HOWEVER... SOME ISOLATED
AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH MAY OCCUR NEAR THE INTERSTATE
44 CORRIDOR...WHERE ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE LATE
TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS
FREEZING RAIN...WITH SLEET POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN
OKLAHOMA. THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH LATE
THURSDAY AS THE STORM SYSTEM MOVES EAST OF THE AREA.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
