IOWA THIS EVENING THEN CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW BY LATE

WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING.
SIGNIFICANT WINTER WEATHER IS POSSIBLE STARTING THIS EVENING AND CONTINUING
THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. RAIN IS EXPECTED INITIALLY THIS EVENING, BUT AS
COLDER AIR MOVES IN, THE PRECIPITATION WILL BECOME A MIX AND THEN CHANGE TO
SNOW. SOME SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE. THE STRONG WINDS COULD
ALSO CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY
IN SOUTHWEST IOWA.
CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE FOR THE MAIN BAND OF HEAVY SNOW TO DEVELOP EAST OF
THE AREA, BUT THE EXACT TRACK AND TIMING OF THE SYSTEM REMAINS UNCERTAIN AT
THIS TIME AND COULD SHIFT FARTHER TO THE NORTH AND WEST.
A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW, SLEET
OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE
LATEST FORECASTS.
