REGIONAL WEATHER DISCUSSION
WARM AND HUMID AIR HAS MOVED INTO NORTHERN TEXAS AND SOUTHERN AND
CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. THIS ENVIRONMENT, COMBINED WITH FAVORABLE WIND
PROFILES FOR SEVERE WEATHER, HAS ALREADY PRODUCED ONE LARGE
INTENSE SUPERCELL STORM NEAR WICHITA FALLS TEXAS.
ADDITIONAL STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THROUGH THE EVENING. THE
GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE STORMS THROUGH 8 PM WILL BE IN THE GENERAL
AREAS OF WICHITA FALLS, LAWTON AND THE OKLAHOMA CITY METRO
AREA. LARGE HAIL, TORRENTIAL RAIN, INTENSE LIGHTNING, DAMAGING WINDS AND
EVEN A FEW TORNADOES ARE LIKELY WITH THE
STRONGER STORMS. THE STORMS WILL MOVE EAST OR NORTHEAST AT 20 TO 30
MPH, AND THE AREA OF GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE STORMS WILL SHIFT
EAST AND NORTHEAST LATER THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT.
