...FROST OR FREEZE POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND MONDAY MORNINGS...
A COOL AND DRY AIR MASS WILL REMAIN IN OKLAHOMA AND NORTH TEXAS
THROUGH THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES MAY FALL TO OR BELOW FREEZING
SUNDAY AND MONDAY MORNINGS ACROSS PORTIONS OF OKLAHOMA. THE MAIN
IMPACT FROM THIS COLD SPELL WILL BE ON NEWLY BLOOMED OR PLANTED
VEGETATION.
A LIGHT FREEZE OR AREAS OF FROST WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT
MAINLY ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AS TEMPERATURES FALL
TO NEAR THE FREEZING MARK. HOWEVER... A MORE WIDESPREAD AND
SIGNIFICANT FREEZE IS EXPECTED LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
MORNING... AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES INTO THE REGION AND CAUSES WINDS
TO BECOME LIGHT AND VARIABLE. A FREEZE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR
NORTH-CENTRAL OKLAHOMA FOR LATE TONIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING.
MEANWHILE... A FREEZE WATCH COVERS MOST OF OKLAHOMA SUNDAY NIGHT AND
MONDAY MORNING. ALTHOUGH THE FREEZE WATCH DOES NOT EXTEND INTO FAR
SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA OR WESTERN NORTH TEXAS... PATCHY FROST MAY OCCUR
IN THESE AREAS MONDAY MORNING.
PERSONS ACROSS OKLAHOMA AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS SHOULD TAKE STEPS
NOW TO PROTECT ANY TENDER VEGETATION THAT HAS BEEN RECENTLY PLANTED
OR HAS RECENTLY BLOOMED.
