...SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER EPISODE POSSIBLE FROM THURSDAY
AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY...
SCATTERED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING FOR AREAS NORTHWEST OF THE NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY. THE
GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A
HARRISONBURG LOUISIANA...TO VICKSBURG...TO GRENADA LINE. THIS WILL BE
THE AREA WITH THE HIGHEST CHANCE OF SEEING TORNADOES...A FEW OF WHICH
COULD BE STRONG. VERY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE WITH THE SEVERE WEATHER THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
WHILE THE SEVERE WEATHER ACTIVITY MAY DIMINISH SOMEWHAT LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT...IT SHOULD INCREASE AGAIN BY LATE MORNING FRIDAY...
AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. AT THE PRESENT
TIME...IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER
FRIDAY WILL BE IN AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF THE NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY
CORRIDOR. LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND TORNADOES WILL BE
POSSIBLE WITH THE ACTIVITY ON FRIDAY...ALONG WITH THE RISK OF LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL.
THIS WEATHER SYSTEM HAS THE CAPABILITY TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT SEVERE
WEATHER ACROSS THE REGION. PEOPLE ARE URGED TO MONITOR LATER
UPDATES CONCERNING THIS POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER EPISODE.
AN OUTBREAK OF SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM
THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY. A POWERFUL SPRING STORM SYSTEM IS
FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE PLAINS AND SEND A VIGOROUS COLD FRONT
ACROSS THE ARKLAMISS REGION. INCREASING MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY
WILL COMBINE WITH VERY STRONG WIND SHEAR TO CREATE A PRIME
ENVIRONMENT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF THE NATCHEZ
TRACE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY EVENING. THE AREA NORTHWEST
OF A HARRISONBURG TO VICKSBURG TO GRENADA LINE WILL HAVE A GREATER
RISK FOR SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF A
COUPLE OF STRONG TORNADOES...VERY LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS.
THE CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL CONTINUE OVER AREAS NORTHWEST OF
THE NATCHEZ TRACE CORRIDOR INTO LATE THURSDAY EVENING...BUT COULD
DIMINISH SOME LATE THURSDAY NIGHT. BY EARLY TO MID MORNING
FRIDAY...THE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL INCREASE AGAIN AND SHIFT TO
AREAS ALONG AND SOUTHEAST OF THE NATCHEZ TRACE CORRIDOR AS THE COLD
FRONT AND ASSOCIATED THUNDERSTORMS SHIFT SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE AREA.
HEAVY RAINFALL COULD ALSO BECOME A CONCERN ALONG THE SLOW MOVING COLD
FRONT. THE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER OVER THIS AREA SHOULD CONTINUE
THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.
RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO STAY TUNED FOR LATER UPDATES CONCERNING THIS
POTENTIAL SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK.

A SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK IS LIKELY THURSDAY AFTERNOON
INTO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. A POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
AREA AND BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE
HAIL...AND TORNADOES. A FEW STRONG TORNADOES WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE WESTERN
HALF OF THE MID SOUTH THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND MOVE ACROSS THE
REMAINDER OF THE FORECAST AREA THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING. THIS SHOULD BE A SIGNIFICANT AND WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER
EVENT FOR MUCH OF THE AREA.
HEAVY RAINFALL WILL ALSO OCCUR WITH THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS
THE AREA. THESE STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE RAINFALL AMOUNTS
BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS. THIS MAY
LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING AND ADDITIONAL RIVER FLOODING LATE THURSDAY
AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY MORNING.
THE ACTIVATION OF STORM SPOTTERS...EMERGENCY MANAGERS...AND LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS IN SUPPORT OF SEVERE WEATHER OPERATIONS WILL
BE NEEDED THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING ACROSS THE
ENTIRE MIDSOUTH.
