This is from a friend of mine that lives in Des Moines, IA. Here's what he
had to say about his trip home in the snow. I'm just glad he got home safe!
"Well, we're now back at home. Went to Waterloo for the weekend. Leaving
Waterloo
was bad then things got better till we were on 35 near Story City. There
were numerous
cars in the ditch and even some trucks. The issue wasn't the snow but the
wind blowing
the snow that had already fallen across the road. It got better as we hit
Ankenny
and Des Moines. Anyone traveling should avoid 35 unless absolutely
necessary."
