Discussion By Greg Whitworth/Fox 25 Forecaster

We'll see a cold morning with lows in the 20s and 30s and light winds.
Winds will pick up on Sunday afternoon out of the south. We should
start off sunny with clouds across the eastern half of the state where
fog will be lifting east of I-35. A warm front will develop across
western Oklahoma and sweep rapidly across all but eastern OK by sunrise
Monday. This will lead to temperatures in the 50s to start our Monday.
A dryline surges rapidly east through the TX panhandle on Monday. SPC
has no severe outlooked but I am suspicious. An upper level storm looks
to cross around 3 p.m. with the dryline nearing the OK/TX border.
Models have been persistently developing convection to our east, perhaps
along some sort of convergence boundary in eastern OK behind the warm
front. I think the warm front will be east of the storm development
area. Dryline will pass OKC around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, supposedly,
followed by a moderately strong cold front around 9 a.m. The front will
have no moisture to work with as it will be swept east by the dryline.
Tuesday should be sunny with temps about 20 degrees cooler. Winds turn
to the south on Wednesday. It is important to note every day will be
windy no matter the direction. A storm system approaches from the west
on Thursday. Temperatures should start off above freezing but the wrap
around should pull the 540 line down south quickly to produce snow
across the northern half of the state on Thursday. If it clears out
Friday morning, lows could be in the 10s. IPS had a low of 12 while GFS
was going 24. Winds turn to the south on Saturday and skies become
mostly cloudy. Another upper storm approaches sunrise next Sunday. A
cold front lags behind it, arriving around 3 p.m. in OKC. I suspect
there is some quirkiness going on with the models and these two will
sync up over time. Another wave behind it is scheduled to arrive noon
the following Monday. I am concerned about snow with the system next
Monday. GFS develops a substantial area across the TX panhandle and
into western OK.
