Northwestern garrard, northern washington, northern madison,
Mercer, northern nelson, jessamine, clark, anderson,
Southeastern spencer, woodford, fayette, bourbon, franklin,
Nicholas, scott and harrison counties,
At 910 pm est scattered rain showers were continuing across the
Advisory area, with rainfall rates up to three quarters of an inch
Per hour.
Minor low lying flooding was reported earlier this evening and is
Expected to continue for the next couple of hours as the rain
Showers move through the area.
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
Areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
Deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
Enough to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded
Roads make the smart choice, turn around, dont drown.

The national weather service in jackson ky has issued an

Harlan county in southeast kentucky,
This includes the city of harlan,
until 1145 pm est
at 852 pm est national weather service doppler radar indicated
Three quarters of an inch to 1.25 inches of rain has fallen over
Harlan county late this afternoon and evening.
Moderate rain will continue through late this evening.
Additional rainfall amounts of a quarter to locally a half inch are
Possible in the area. Minor flooding of small streams and
Creeks, roads, and roadside culverts are possible, particularly
In low lying areas.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
Roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
Safely. Move to higher ground.
