AT 338 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WAS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING ACROSS THE WARNED
AREA. NUMEROUS COUNTY ROADS WITH LOW WATER CROSSINGS WERE CLOSED DUE
TO THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL SINCE THIS MORNING. RAINFALL TOTALS SINCE
THIS MORNING HAVE RANGED FROM LOCALLY ONE INCH ACROSS
BARRY...MCDONALD AND LAWRENCE COUNTIES...TO ONE HALF INCH ELSEWHERE.
ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WILL BE CONCENTRATED ACROSS
STONE...CHRISTIAN AND TANEY COUNTIES THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...RUNOFF
FROM THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL...AND THE SATURATED SOILS CONDITIONS
FROM RECENT FLOODING...WILL CAUSE RAPID RUNOFF AND A SIGNIFICANT
RISE IN AREA STREAMS AND CREEKS.
FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERED

AT 146 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WAS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING ACROSS THE WARNED
AREA. RAINFALL AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN EXCESSIVE IN A LARGE AREA OF THE
WARNED AREA WITH LOCALIZED TWO TO FOUR INCH TOTALS NEAR NEVADA AND
EL DORADO SPRINGS MISSOURI. ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL HAS ENDED
IN THE NEVADA...EL DORADO SPRINGS AND OSCEOLA AREAS...RUNOFF IS NOT
COMPLETE AND WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE RAPID RISES ALONG AREA STREAMS
AND CREEKS. ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE WARNED
AREA...ESPECIALLY FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF JOPLIN...GREENFIELD AND
STOCKTON MISSOURI...ANOTHER ONE HALF TO LOCALLY ONE INCH OF RAINFALL
WILL BE LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON AS THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO FORM OVER
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI AND MOVE NORTHEAST.

AT 1140 AM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED THAT HEAVY
RAINFALL WAS PRODUCING MINOR FLOODING ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA.
WATER WAS REPORTED OVER THE ROADWAY AROUND THE PLEASANT HOPE
AREA...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE POMME DE TERRE RIVER AS RUNOFF CONTINUES
ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. HOWEVER...NONE OF THE ROADS WERE CLOSED AS
OF 1145 AM. ANOTHER REPORT OF MINOR FLOODING OCCURRED ALONG HIGHWAY
13 NEAR THE POLK...GREENE COUNTY LINE WHERE WATER WAS FLOWING OVER
THE ROADWAY.
ALTHOUGH SOME STREAMS AND CREEKS WILL LIKELY BE BANK FULL THROUGH
THE AFTERNOON...ONLY MINOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED. IN ADDITION...THE
HEAVY RAINFALL THAT ENDED ACROSS LAWRENCE...GREENE...POLK AND DALLAS
COUNTIES...WILL LIKELY RECEIVE MORE HEAVY RAINFALL THIS AFTERNOON
WHICH WILL CAUSE MORE RUNOFF AND POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING.
