POTENTIAL TONIGHT OVER MUCH OF CENTRAL IOWA...
.UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES AND RAPID SNOW MELT TODAY ALONG
WITH AN ADDITIONAL QUARTER TO HALF INCH OF RAINFALL THIS EVENING
MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. THE RAIN WILL EVENTUALLY MIX WITH
SLEET AND CHANGE TO SNOW LATER THIS EVENING...DIMINISHING THE

WITH FLOOD WATERS IN AREAS THAT HAD SIGNIFICANT SNOW MELT TODAY
ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH OF RAINFALL
TONIGHT. SEVERAL RIVERS...STREAMS...AND CREEKS ARE ALSO EXPECTED
TO RISE NEAR OR ABOVE FLOOD STAGE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT IN ADDITION
TO SOME ALREADY FLOODED LOCATIONS.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION

ONE INCH TONIGHT WILL FALL ON SATURATED GROUND AND REMAINING
SNOW. THIS COULD CAUSE ADDITIONAL FLASH FLOODING WITH THE RAIN
UNABLE TO SOAK INTO THE GROUND. LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING WILL BE
POSSIBLE WITH ANY BRIEF HEAVY RAIN AMOUNTS OF A HALF OR MORE.
* INDIVIDUALS IN LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE LOCATIONS SHOULD
MONITOR CONDITIONS FOR THE RISK OF RAPID RISING OF WATER.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM SNOW MELT AND RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES.
ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF
CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
