PUBLIC ADVISORY NUMBER 36 FOR TROPICAL DEPRESSION GUSTAV
NWS HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER CAMP SPRINGS MD AL072008
10 AM CDT TUE SEP 2 2008
GUSTAV MOVING SLOWLY ACROSS NORTHWEST LOUISIANA.
A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF EASTERN LOUISIANA AND CENTRAL
AND WESTERN MISSISSIPPI THROUGH 4 PM CDT. A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR
MOST OF LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON
AND EARLY EVENING. A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT OVER ADJACENT NORTHEAST TEXAS,
SOUTHERN ARKANSAS AND FAR SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA THROUGH TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.
AT 10 AM CDT, TROPICAL DEPRESSION GUSTAV WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 32.4
NORTH, AND LONGITUDE 93.6 WEST, OR ABOUT 15 MILES, EAST SOUTHEAST OF
SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA. THE DEPRESSION WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST
NEAR 8 MPH. THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WITH A GRADUAL TURN TOWARDS
THE NORTH TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE 25 MPH, WITH HIGHER GUSTS. THE MINIMUM CENTRAL
PRESSURE WAS 992 MB, 29.29 INCHES.

MISSISSIPPI. FOUR TO SIX INCHES WITH A MAXIMUM OF EIGHT INCHES IS EXPECTED
OVER MISSOURI AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. THREE TO FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IS
POSSIBLE OVER FAR NORTHEAST TEXAS AND FAR EASTERN OKLAHOMA.

NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 9 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS, 25 MPH. MINIMUM CENTRAL
