Ike Is Weakening

Ike will weaken today as it continues to quickly advance northward across Texas. Damaging winds will still be possible, however the worst winds will be found very close to the center of the storm. Heavy rainfall will be the greatest threat later today as heavy downpours from Ike result in 4-8 inches of rainfall with up to 10 inches in some spots. Flooding will continue to be the main threat from Ike as it advances north and eastward into Sunday. Another serious concern is the development of tornadoes that are commonly found on the eastern side of tropical systems.
